COVID-19 Information: Keeping you, your staff, and your loved ones safe.

FSME, Inc wants to ensure the safety of the food supply while protecting our customers brand and the health and well-being of their customers. We also care about the families of those who could be in harms way of this virus. With this in mind, we are closely monitoring the global COVID-19 situation and its impact on the health of our employees, partners, and our customers. With that being said we want to inform our customers of the precautions FSME, Inc. is taking to help keep the food supply safe.

Unless the situation becomes horribly worse, we will continue business as usual rescheduling audits for the following reasons:

  1. The auditor shows signs of illness or flu-like symptoms;
  2. The site's staff has been diagnosed positive for the COVID-19 virus or their employees have been recently exposed to the COVID-19 virus; or
  3. The CDC updates its current risk assessment for the COVID-19 outbreak to consider it a pandemic in a specific geographical area.

FSME, Inc. auditors and partners are required to report any illness to our company executives as part of our internal processes. FSME, Inc. will review a site's guidelines concerning its responses to COVID-19 to ensure the safety of our staff.

Information About Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Reported illnesses have ranged from mild symptoms to severe illness and death for confirmed coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.

The following symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure.

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Overall physical weakness

Steps to Prevent Illness

Currently there is no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease (COVID-19), but efforts are in the works by several appropriate agencies. At present, the best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to the virus. The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) or through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.

  • When sick stay home – Inform your employees of the symptoms of Coronavirus and encourage employees to stay home and seek medical attention if they are showing any symptoms.
  • Ensure employees wash their hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Hand sanitizers may be used in conjunction with proper hand washing.
  • Inform employees that they should cover any coughs or sneezes with a tissue or shirt sleeve.
  • Inform all employees to avoid touching of the eyes, nose, and mouth to help slow the spread of germs.
